The Spectre of Math

Since I’m slavic I can’t be accused of racism when I say all slavic politicians are corrupt.  If I see a politician with a slavic sounding name, I just assume he/she is corrupt.  So I was not surprised that Blagojevich is corrupt.  No, I was surprised that someone who has such a nongrasp on reality has been elected governor.   Then again, Palin proves that being elected governor does not require being smart.  I don’t quite get this, but voters are willing to elect someone based on how they look.  Do you put your retirement savings into a fund because you like the way the fund manager looks?  I definitely can’t imagine someone wanting a dumb fund retirement manager.  How come when it comes to our tax money, we’re willing to elect complete morons to office and not care about it.

I may accept as an argument that people didn’t know that Rod was a corrupt moron.  But I mean come on, his first name is almost an insult on his inteligence.  If you call someone “a rod” you probably don’t think too highly of their intelligence.  By same logic, why would you consider Cheney to be a nice person.

  1. i’m hoping Blagojevich will inspire Congress to finally grow a pair and start doing what’s best for the people they represent (by putting this guy away for a long time)

    • I don’t think congress has any legal way to do anything. But I’m sure he’s going away. There should be an easier way to force him to resign, but that’s illinois state issue, congress has nothing to do with that.
